Why Jennifer Aniston Fought Studio Execs Over Her Wig in 'Horrible Bosses'

When Jennifer Aniston truly desires something, even as straightforward as a wig, she is prepared to fight for it.

The award-winning actress recently discussed during an interview forVanity Fair"Rewatch" video series in which she had a conflict with Warner Bros. to be allowed to wear a brunette wig in 2011'sHorrible Bosses, as they favored her cherished blonde hair.

I put up a fight for that wig, by the way. It wasn't an easy win," Aniston mentioned. "I wanted [my character] to have a different appearance. The studio's argument, and I apologize for pointing this out, was, 'We're just worried it won't look like you.' And I responded, 'That's kind of the idea!' I still believe it might resemble me a little. But I'm glad I stood my ground and fought for it.

The Friends alumportrayed Dr. Julia Harris inHorrible Bosses, which followed three friends who plotted to kill their terrible bosses after realizing they were blocking their path to happiness. The R-rated comedy also featured Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis and Kevin Spacey. They all, along with Aniston, also came back for the 2014 sequel,Horrible Bosses 2.

Aniston mentioned that she "loved" both of theHorrible Bossesmovies because they allowed her to shift away from her "girl next door" image.

I was always kind of viewed as the girl next door, you know, the insincere one,The Morning ShowThe actress shared, "It was truly enjoyable to portray someone so different from myself. I believe that's what the director appreciated—this is completely unexpected from someone like her. That was the excitement of it. I think that's what made it more creatively thrilling for me, obviously."
