() — Austin Drummondappears to be making every effort to demonstrate his innocence, such as stating that he was "working as an FBI informant."
Drummond, who was charged with the quadruple murder of a family in western Tennesseeearlier this month, spoke with a reporterout of prison and claimed the FBI asked him to go undercover following a previous time in jail.
What was his exact activity? Drummond claims he was assisting in apprehending drug dealers who were transporting shipments into prisons.
Furthermore, Drummond mentioned that the four victims—James Wilson, Adrianna Williams, Cortney Rose, and Braydon Williams—Wasn't killed until his cover was exposed, which made him flee for his life. The 28-year-old had previously been associated with the victims, some of whom were very closely related.
Following the murders, a newborn who was connected to the victims was discovered in front of a residence in Dyer County. The infant was reported to be unharmed and in good condition, according to officials. Drummond declined to comment on the baby's situation.
Drummond acknowledged he was "directly involved" in the killings, but claims he is not responsible for the deaths. Danny Goodman Jr., the Lake County District Attorney, doesn't believe this. He still maintains that Drummond was the mastermind behind the killings, to the extent that they intend to pursue the...death penalty against him.
Goodman Jr. claims he is aware of Drummond's reason behind the killings, but has not disclosed it at this time.
Drummond was in a relationship with a state corrections officer who is connected to the victims and is expecting Drummond's child. The officer was allegedly dismissed from her position due to the affair.
Drummond is scheduled for an initial court appearance next month.
