The level of contentment among migrant workers in Singapore has hit an all-time peak, as 95.3% of them expressed satisfaction with their job and living situations in 2024, based on the latest report from the Ministry of Manpower.

The same survey revealed that 96.7% of migrant workers plan to remain with their current employer or come back to work in Singapore in the future, an increase from 91.9% in 2018.
Confidence in MOM stayed robust, with 97% of participants stating the ministry was effective in safeguarding them, and the same proportion indicating their work environment was secure. Furthermore, 92.3% expressed they would suggest Singapore as a desirable place to work, highlighting safety, competitive salaries, and sufficient employee protections as the main factors.
Workplace trust was also significant, with 99.5% of migrant workers stating they would inform their supervisor or employer about a work-related injury. MOM mentioned that electronic salary payments are now nearly widespread, with 92% receiving their wages directly into bank accounts.
An additional 88.5% mentioned that their food arrangements aligned with their individual preferences, including preparing meals on their own or buying food from vendors.
Seventy point eight percent of employers indicated contentment with the quality of their migrant employees. Just 1.4% mentioned discontent. The retention rate stayed strong, with 75.2% of employers reapplying work permits for over 80% of their staff.
Several employers also implemented further measures to keep and assist their employees: 88.8% introduced perks such as wage increases, while 80.6% offered additional training beyond the basic standards.
Although 47.5% of employers reported having good overall access to migrant workers, only 27.3% found it straightforward to hire individuals with the necessary skills, especially for more specialized positions.
